The activity was a follow up to the training seminar carried out on 14-15 May and focused on discussing practical aspects of examination of discrimination cases. The training comprised five sessions which focused on: main concepts that should be taken into consideration when dealing with discrimination cases; how the European Court of Justice and the ECtHR analyse discrimination cases; discrimination cases addressed at national level by human rights institutions and essential elements to be considered when investigating and analysing complaints of discrimination.
The participants learned to better understand how to examine and investigate a discrimination case on a practical level. The knowledge gathered will also help the participants to detect elements of discrimination in complaints lodged with the Ombudsman Institution.
