Training courses for lawyers and human right defenders
On 9,10 and 16 July 2014 in the framework of the Joint Programme between The Council of Europe and European Union “Strengthening the capacity of lawyers and human rights defenders for domestic application of the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) and of the Revised European Social Charter (RESC)” were organised training courses for lawyers and human rights defenders on the following topics: “Discrimination on the grounds of mental health”; “Discrimination in access to education - theoretical and practical aspects” and “Right to education - a fundamental human right. Access to education of persons with disabilities and preventing discrimination”.
The training courses were attended by lawyers, intern lawyers, one Ombudsman, also representatives of: NGOs, Ombudsman office, local public authorities, etc. There were addressed both theoretical and practical aspects in terms of discrimination, thus participants have obtained new knowledge and useful information for their professional activity. |
