Study visit of judges and prosecutors of the Republic of Moldova to the Council of Europe(8 – 10 July, Strasbourg, France, 18 participants)
The study visit was organised with the purpose to familiarise the judges and prosecutors with the mandate and activity of the most important and relevant for their daily activity institutions of the Council of Europe, such as European Committee for the Prevention of Torture and inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment, European Committee of Social Rights, European Commission for Democracy through Law, European Commission against Racism and Intolerance, Consultative Council of European Judges and Consultative Council of European Prosecutors, European Commission for the Efficiency of Justice etc. A very important part of the visit were the meetings with the judge of the European Court of Human Rights elected in respect of the Republic of Moldova, as well as with the Moldovan lawyers at the ECtHR Registry dedicated to discussions on the most important cases against the Republic of Moldova, as well as the procedures before the Court, admissibility criteria etc. Another very important point of the agenda was the meeting with the representative of the Department for the Execution of Judgments of the European Court of Human Rights. |
