Train-of-trainers course for Moldovan legal professionals on “European Court for human Rights standards and their application by Moldovan legal professionals”.First session (9 – 11 September, Chisinau, Republic of Moldova, 20 participants, 2 CoE Consultants)
The Course was designed as a comprehensive Human Rights course for Moldovan judges, prosecutors and Ombudsman staff, all members of the NIJ network of trainers in order to transfer to them deep knowledge on the procedures before ECtHR. The teaching course will comprise four three days sessions and will be finalised in late November. It is envisaged that on finalising the ToT course and after a final test, the trainees will be enabled with the capacity to teach their own peers within a series of cascade seminars to take place starting with early 2014 until the end of June 2015 in different regions of the country in order to deliver their knowledge to their colleagues. The first session started with a test designed to assess the participants’ knowledge of the Convention and Court’s case-law in order to have a clear view on how the course should continue. This introductory session focused mostly on such topics as admissibility criteria, principles of interpretation of the European Convention on Human Rights, main jurisprudence of the European Court of Human Rights concerning Moldova and other basic aspects of the Convention and Court’s activity. At the nest sessions the participants shall be divided in two members groups and will prepare presentations on different topics of the Convention. |
