[10-12-2014] - From 1 January 2015 to 31 December 2017, the Division of Electoral Assistance of the Council of Europe will implement a EU funded Electoral Assistance Programme: reforming electoral legislation and practice in the Eastern Partnership countries.
The programme aims at:
- Strengthening the capacities of EMBs in delivering trainings to electoral stakeholders;
- Increasing the capacities of domestic observers in monitoring elections and reporting violations;
- Increasing gender equality in politics;
- Enhancing civic and voter education of women, minorities and other disadvantaged groups.
Activities will contribute to the development of studies, toolkits and new methodologies for the monitoring of election dispute resolution, political party financing, parallel vote counting and gender representation. Training, peer-to-peer visits and expert meetings will complement these activities.
